Referrals
We accept referrals by GPs or patients themselves for Initial Assessment and Voice Care advice. We cannot provide therapy until a patient has seen either an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor (ENT) or a Respiratory Physician – further detailed below.

1) For Patients with Changes to their Voice:
– Imaging of your larynx by an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Doctor, preferably with stroboscopy (this allows the best view of the cover of the vocal cords as they vibrate).
– We need to receive the ENT report (and video whenever possible) before we can give a patient any vocal exercises.

2) For Patients with Chronic Cough, Globus or Paradoxical Vocal Cord Movement (PVFM)/ Vocal Cord Dysfunction (VCD)/Exercise Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (EILO)
- Diagnosis of Chronic Refractory Cough or VCD/PVFM by an ENT or Respiratory Specialist, or Globus by an ENT or Gastroenterologist. We appreciate receiving reports of laryngeal imaging, or other testing, such as respiratory function tests.
- If there are voice changes along with the above diagnoses we require patients to have had imaging of their larynx before we give any vocal exercises.

3) If you seeking presentation skills or voice training, you do not need to have seen an ENT.
